1523 Rupert Rd was a part of a stretch of prefab homes on the street built in the 1980’s that looked identical. This home had been a rental for many years along with many of the others on the street. This one was in relatively good shape, making it a great candidate for renovation and an addition. It was a tiny no-frills little 3 bed 1.5 bath with no direct access to the backyard. We wanted to play up the craftsman style of the home and added enough square footage to accommodate a family. We reconfigured the floorplan, gave it new systems, and build a HUGE addition off the back and bumped out the right side. The result was a 4 bed, 3 full bath home with an open floor plan, vaulted ceilings, huge kitchen, real hardwood floors throughout, new laundry room, and master suite with enormous walk-in closet. We have the home a long central hallway all the way to the back for direct access to the large deck, and French doors off the master bedroom to the deck as well. We also added a little side grilling deck off the kitchen. We accented the vaulted ceilings with bead board and a large stained beam through the middle. We changed the front porch stairs from the side to the center to increase curb appeal and give it that quintessential craftsman rocking chair front porch!
