2993 San Jose already had a lot of good things going for it and we really just needed to come in and make it shine! It had been a rental for many years but was well taken care of. The carport already had been enclosed into a nice large bonus room and there was already a partially open floor plan. We completely gutted the kitchen and baths, took down the rest of the wall between living and dining room and added French doors from the dining room onto a new deck. The kitchen ended up with a lot more storage and a breakfast bar to sit at. In the bonus room we framed in a new laundry room to accommodate a side by side washer/dryer. We added hardwood floors to match the original hardwoods in the rest of the house and refinished them all to a rich brown color. We left the cool exposed brick to give the TV wall a loft feel. The backyard is perfectly flat, sunny and inviting. This was the “smallest” scale renovation we have done but we loved the way it turned out! – Alana
